#Repost @wellroundedny ・・・ “I love telling people about my C-sections, and, if they’re willing to hear them, I enjoy regaling them with the gory details of each one. I didn’t choose my first C-section, but there’s a lot about motherhood that I don’t get control over. My C-sections are my birth stories, and I am proud of them. . When you think about it, what isn’t empowering about lying AWAKE on a table, as a doctor slices into your abdomen? How can you not feel like a badass after you have lived through having your stomach opened, then rummaged around in, and then having a baby pulled out of it? And then, while your guts are still open to the heavens, you most likely have a moment with your brand new baby to pose and take a photo, because that is just how #momboss you are. You’re so amazingly tough, in fact, you get to witness your doctor sewing you back up, possibly feeling just a few tugs around on your insides, and maybe the ol’ burn of a cauterizer. That’s some superhuman sh*t. And then someone has the nerve to tell you that it wasn’t a real birth worth being proud of? That you had a “belly” birth? Ha! That’s cute.” • Over at @wellroundedny I’m sharing what I really think about people calling c-sections belly births. Postpartum looks a little - ok, a lot - like this. . "As you can see it's super glamorous and I wouldn't change it for the world. Also this need to 'bounce' back ? Our bodies carried a human for 40 weeks, birthed...the last thing we should worry about is losing weight, or getting back to normal, or trying to be a hero and do everything. I learnt my lesson with the first two. Thank your amazing body for doing such an awesome job. Don't expect too much from yourself and remember this too shall pass. From a blistered nipple mumma xx". Welcome to the world Wilder Paul Sandoval💙✨💙 After an incredible and extremely intense 2 hour labor that started with my water breaking and ended with my body taking over (no pushing necessary) this little man was free-birthed in the tub🛁. The birth was completely unhindered by anyone directing it and it was spectacular! Paul was an amazing support and caught his son as he entered the world! Wilder is 7lbs 12 oz, 19 in long. He is heavier and with more hair than either of his brothers and we are all in love💚 thank you @allgoodthingsphoto for the amazing photos and support😘 . . . #motherhood #myformerbump #wilder #freebirth #tubbirth #waterbirth #birthphotographer #birthphotography #allgoodthingsphotography #unassistedbirth #takebackpostpartum @freebirthsociety #birthwithoutfear #birthday #birth #babylove #empoweredbirthproject #wombman #empowered #strongwomen #raddad #realmotherhoodseries #raw #reallife
I may never have abs or a thigh gap but I’m proud of my body for it bears the imprint of the babies I have grown, carried, birthed and nurtured. The beach and the pool are gonna get the body that I give it - funky tan lines and all 👊🏼#fourthtrimesterbody #honestmotherhood #postpartumdiaries #takebackpostpartum • • • • • • • @the_dairyfairy just released their newest nursing/pumping bra- The Pippa! My husband took this picture the day after I gave birth. When I saw it for the first time, my first reaction was “omg. I look so gross. Look how swollen I am”. But something made me keep it. Now, two years later, I look back so thankful for this picture. Those first few days were the hardest, most exhausting, most disgusting, most beautiful days of my life. But this picture is a beautiful reminder of how fleeting those days are. New moms are so pressured to be perfect, bounce back, become “super moms”. It’s not fair and it needs to stop. Let us be in the moment. Let us breathe in the moment. We are powerful, beautiful, ferocious, resilient creatures and we deserve to be left the f*** alone for a second. // . . . . . #postpartum #afterbirth #postbirth #newmomlife #momlife #rawmotherhood #honestmotherhood #postpartumrecovery #takebackpostpartum #fourthtrimester #4thtrimester #momhood #momgoals #newborn #birthwithoutfear #empoweredbirth #empoweredmom #empoweredpostpartum #thevillage #thevillagepp #reallife
